From 14 to 16 December 2007 IOM and the Prosecution Service of Georgia facilitated a training course for Georgian law enforcement structures on investigative techniques related to the crime of trafficking in persons.

ANALYTICAL RESEARCH ON THE CRIMINOLOGICAL SITUATION IN GEORGIA IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2007

 

In the first 6 months of 2007 (hereinafter reporting period) 29,687 crimes were reported throughout Georgia. This is 1417 fewer offences compared with the same period of 2006 when 31,104 crimes were reported. Accordingly, crime statistics for the reporting period show a 4.6 per cent decrease in the number of overall reported crime compared with the first half of 2006.
